Furness Carers Update: 15 June 2020
Even with allowing for the difficult circumstances we are in due to the COVID-19 pandemic, in general Furness Carers had a successful Carers Week, ok it was nowhere near to what we had planned or what we have done in previous years, but with the sessions we were able to do we did hit the theme of this year’s campaign of (Make Caring Visible). We are now looking at the near future of how we can get back to delivering some of the support services which have been suspended, so over the next few weeks we will be reviewing and looking at how virtually we will be able to do some fun activities for Carers of all ages. Normally at this time of year just after Carers Week we move quickly into getting everything in place for our Young Carers Summer Activities Programme, at present again due to restrictions we’ll not be able to do our normal weekly fun filled activities but we will pull something together to give Young Carers some respite from their caring role as well as looking at how we can do some virtual group support to Adult Carers, so please keep coming back to this page to check on updates.
To continue to allow for safe working practices our office premises remain closed to Carers and the general public until further notice, but it is very important that we get the message out that we are still open, working hard and supporting unpaid Carers throughout Furness, so we are asking if you need any information, a Carers review or a new Carers Assessment, or if you want to make a referral for an Adult or Young Carer then please leave us a message on our answerphone 01229 822822, giving us your name and a contact number, or alternatively send an email to email@example.com our answer machine and emails are checked daily Monday to Friday and someone will get back to you ASAP.
